Halloween!!

Finding the right costume for my kids is very important to me! I am too cheap to buy the really expensive costumes and too snooty to let my kids wear the vinyl ones with the plastic mask held up by a rubber band. So the search for the perfect costume starts months in advance. In the past I have made all of Jack's....but now I'm over that too. So this year I scowered craigslist and ebay and was able to come up with the costumes.

Yosemite and Mammoth trip

We all piled in the car Saturday morning, August 2 2008 on a family trip, destination: Yosemite and Mammoth. Jim and I were so busy before the trip that we really didn't have much of a game plan. All we knew is that we were going to spend most of the time in Mammoth but we definetly wanted to spend a day in Yosemite. Jim had never been there and it's been a long time at least 10 years since I had been there. That morning we called up to Yosemite and we were able to get reservations at Curry Village, which is in Yosemite Valley. We were stolked at our good fortune. It is only a 5 hour drive (from OC) but with kids it was more like 7 grueling hours. It was all worth it, when we made it through the last tunnel and were able to look down into Yosemite Valley and see El Capitan, Briadveil Falls, and Half Dome. We got out of the car to look out and then headed down into the valley to check into our tent cabin.

I was really nervous when I saw the tent cabins. There were hundreds of them and they were so close together. I just imagined Charly screaming all night...and thought oh man this is going to be the worst.
